How I Became So Confident

Blog, Business, Emotional Mindset

I get this question often, “How did you become so confident?” Most people who meet me for the first time think I was born this way. That I just showed up in the world with all the confidence I needed in life.

This is far from true. In fact, I had very little confidence in myself and my abilities in my early adulthood.

But once I learned that confidence is a feeling, not a way of being, things began to shift.

Truth is, we can generate confidence at any given moment using our minds. Remember, feelings are generated by thoughts we have in our minds, first.

So I would practice feeling confident by thinking specific thoughts that would generate that feeling of confidence. And every time I did that, it felt SO good that I would do it over and over again.

On a practical level, I would practice doing things that would build my confidence. I started with the easy things that I knew I could accomplish. Then I would work my way up to challenging myself with bigger things.

If you’re struggling with feeling more confident as a business owner, I recommend you start with these 2 simple steps:

  • Implement the easy things you know you can accomplish, first. Celebrate your accomplishment, no matter how small!
  • Challenge yourself to execute bigger business strategies and task. Again, celebrate your accomplishments, no matter how big or small!

The overall mindset here is to remind yourself that you’ll have your own back no matter the outcome. This builds a sense of internal self-confidence that no level of external execution can create.

Creating confidence as a business owner is one of the most common things dietitians talk about. They want to feel more confident in areas of business that they’re not inherently skilled at.

This is how you do it. I’ve done it and it works!

This is an example of the business growth & mindset work we do in my private coaching program. Curious about what that would look like for you?

If so, let’s connect and talk about your goals and how I can help you get there. Grab your free 30-minute consultation here.

The consult call is where I take the time to listen deeply to what your current situation looks like, what’s not working, where you want to be in your business, as well as your life, and help you map out a plan to get there.

If we’re the right fit for each other, we can also talk about what it would look like to work together.
